Welcome to our Club Naturally Classical. This month there are three new videos - two look at lungeing and we also introduce a ridden session with Kate and her ex racehorse Topper.
Kate had so many problems with Topper- he was a traumatized horse from the race track. He bolted and took off which left Kate wondering which way to turn with him. Thankfully Kate has made her own - the power of conscious breathing and formed a great bond in loose work which she is now gaining in her ridden work. This takes time trust and patience- the rewards are relationship changing and life changing- we will be seeing more of Kate during this year-
Lungeing--
When we lunge over poles we need to keep a steady rhythm. If the horse is rushing- he will find it difficult to elevate and use his joints - and the purpose of this exercise will be lost.
I will often steady with a deeper inward breath a few strides before the poles- then exhale the stride before to encourage cadence and activity. Another tip is to walk in a small circle then straighten on a line to introduce the poles- asking for trot strides just three/four strides before the poles. Again this helps with engagement and collection.
There are introductions with each video but do e mail me or send me a PM on facebook if you would like more information- also if you have any topics you would like to see covered..
We are planning a HOLISTIC EVENT on 28th April-- so do contact me for more details--.
I do offer individual coaching and of course articles - books- workshops --- So take a deep breath---- and enjoy --- Jenny
